Why do I Blog?

Posted by

There are many reasons wonderful people start blogs. In my case, I started this website to entertain people with my flash fiction stories. I know there are better story tellers than me and some are amazing at it like my followers who are very creative. I maybe blogging incorrectly. However, I started writing again because I have theses ideas in my brain and I have to type them in the computer. It surprises me how my imagination takes over when I write. I am going to try to post at least one story everyday or maybe two. I just need to think what stories to put. I hope everyone succeeds in their goals! πŸ‘πŸ» let the great bloggers keep on blogging.

  1. Hello Daniel Sanchez,

I started blogging as a way to share parts of my life with people I know without them needing an account to read or respond because social networks like Facebook (Fakebook) are usually like walled gardens, and I wanted somewhere more open; but that failed because no one I knew seemed interested and did not even look at my blog or comment et cetera, and so I started using it as a dream journal mostly with occasional miscellaneous posts.

I was pretty isolated after having to dropout of college and most friends / classmates / et cetera stopped communicating with me mostly so blogging was among the few things to give me something to do, give me a chance to reach out to other people, and it became part of my routine to help me stay stable / sane.

Blogging pretty much became a habit after setting a goal to type my dreams every day, and I have successfully done this since the end of 2013 without missing a day so I have been on an every day blogging streak since then and still going.

Unfortunately I have not been liking the direction that WordPress.com has been going, especially with their free themes, and so as this gets worse it increases my chances of giving up on blogging or blogging here at WordPress.com; I have been blogging since 2006, and I started officially blogging here since 2010 or 2011.

Thank you for sharing this post, and good luck with your blog.

    1. You inspired me to pursue this more. I have the same problem not many people like to read blogs they would rather see an image or video. It is hard trying to put your work out there. Many people have talent and it should be recognized. WordPress is my first website that I have been blogging, but I can tell it is hard to have people go to your website. I write stories and I feel that I can create them out of imagination. I am a newbie to this and I hope to be a better blogger. Thanks for the tips! πŸ€—

      1. Hello Daniel Sanchez,

Thank you, thank you for sharing that, and I agree.

Something that can help promote your blog a little bit is using the Publicize option here on WordPress.com (be careful with using this for Facebook because my accounts got disabled by them when I set this up with my new Facebook accounts (I did not have this problem with my previous Facebook account), I guess their algorithm falsely detected this as suspicious activity or something, but I am not sure because they never responded to my appeals).
